A CGE delegation participated in the July 14-17 summer graduation events at Liverpool Hope Univeristy in the UK. Dr. Gerald Pillay, Vice Chancellor and Rector, extended the invitation for Dr. Andy Westmoreland (Samford University), Dr. Randall O'Brien (Carson Newman University), members of CGE's Executive Committee, CGE President Dr. Carolyn Bishop, and Dr. Ian Cosh, VP of International Engagement at Ouachita Baptist University. Also included in the CGE delegation were Dr. Jeanna Westmoreland and Kay O'Brien. Dr. Pillay will be the Keynote Speaker at CGE's meeting to be held at Samford University this September 18-20 and hosted by Dr. Westmoreland on Samford’s campus in Birmingham, AL. The summer graduation featured the induction of Field Marshall Lord Guthrie as Univeristy Chancellor.
Meetings were held with LHU Deans to discuss additional numbers of CGE students from CGE member schools to enroll at LHU for semester studies. Ouachita has taken the lead for CGE members with students already studying at LHU during spring semesters. Courses can be taken in a variety of disciplines with opportunities to integrate within the life of the campus and potential internships.
LHU is a strategic partner for CGE with an important history as Liverpool's three colleges joined in the spirit of "Better Together" to become a growing and highly recognized British public university. CGE welcomes a bright future of partnership for committed academic study opportunities within an atmosphere of Christian faith and the pursuit of knowledge.
