William Carey University students, studying Arabic with CGE Jordan in Amman, recently visited the Holocaust Remembrance Center in Jerusalem as a part of their semester study experience. WCU students are completing a Arabic semester study program designed by WCU faculty, Brett Golson. The museum is the official memorial to victims of the Holocaust with a mission toward education. The students had a unique experience - as the following day was Remembrance Day, April 12. Sirens sounded across the city for 2 minutes of silence - all traffic and all people stopped to give respect.
The excursion also included visits to Jerusalem, Nazareth, Megiddo, Tiberius and Sea of Galilee sites. In Jerusalem Fred Tiedemann, CGE Jordan's Director, shared some biblical text for the Mount of Olives site and the eastern wall of historic Jerusalem.
